What is Barnum Dollars for Scholars?
Barnum Dollars for Scholars, an affiliate of Scholarship America, is a community scholarship program for graduates of Barnum High School pursuing post-secondary education. Our chapter is made up of a group of community volunteers who are committed to providing assistance to students of Barnum High School in their dream of earning a college education through awarding scholarships. Our chapter operates in accordance with the by-laws, legal status, policies and procedures of Scholarship America and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Barnum Dollars for Scholars (formerly Barnum CSF) was founded in 1986, with their first awards handed out in 1987.

From 1987 through 2018, Barnum Dollars for Scholars has awarded over $590,950 to over 739 students.
How is Barnum Dollars for Scholars funded?
A major source of our funding is from generous donations from Barnum High School alumni, local businesses, organizations, and other local contributors. We have also built up an endowment fund of over $284,000, in which interest earned gets paid out in scholarships yearly. BARNUM SCHOOL DISTRICT RESIDENTS, BUSINESSES, AND ALUMNI BELIEVE IN SUPPORTING OUR GRADUATES!!!!
All donations to Barnum Dollars for Scholars are tax deductible to the extent provided by federal and state laws.
How are scholarships awarded?
Students must apply for a Dollars for Scholars scholarship. The local awards committee scores the applications and awards are made on the basis of merit and criteria specified by the award donor. Most awards are one time awards; however there are several renewable awards with specific requirements.
